Only

A couple years ago, a well educated young man from Semarang was traveling by plane to Jakarta. An old lady was sitting besides him. The young says hello and a conversation was started.
“Why are you traveling to Jakarta, Maam?”, asked the young man.
“Oh… I’m going to Jakarta, then took a connecting flight to Singapore to see my second son”, answered the lady.

“Wow…you have a very successful son,” reply the young man. Then the young man took some time to think. With courage that was based on curiousity, the young man continues his questions.
“If I’m not mistaken, it was your second son who was living in Singapore right? How about his brothers and sisters?”
“Oh, sure.”

The lady tells the story:
“My third child is a doctor in Malang. My fourth has a plantation in Lampung. The fifth is an architect in Jakarta, the sixth is a Head Branch of a Bank in Malang and the last one is a lecturer in Semarang.” The young man took a moment to think. What a magnificent lady, he thought to be able to educate her children so well.
“ So, how about your eldest?”
After taking a deep breath, the lady answered.
“My eldest son is ONLY a farmer in Godean, Jogja. He work on his own field, a small one too.”
The young man quicky reply, “Excuse me…, do you feel disappointed with your eldest son, considering he is only a farmer compare to his brothers and sisters.”
With a smile on her face, the lady replied, “ Ooo…it’s not like that at all….I’m very proud of my eldest son, because he’s the one who took care all of the money that are needed to educate all of his brothers and sisters.”

Today’s lesson:
Everybody in the world is an important person. Open your eyes, your heart, your mind, your point of view…
Because we can’t make summary before reading “the book” completely.
The important this is not WHO YOU ARE But WHAT YOU HAVE DONE.
